Five Saturday Mornings ( same vista )

Wooden Bowls

I created these bowls with a scroll saw, cutting numerous rings out of yellow pine, each ring being slightly smaller than the previous one. They are glued together, sanded down and stained .

The images are created by using a scroll saw . Each shape is cut out of three quarter inch pine, wood stained, replaced and glued into position .

Jazz Greats

These images are created by placing a black and white image generated from a computer, onto the center of a piece of plywood, measuring 12 x15x1/4 inches . Using the scroll saw I cut out all the negative areas ( black ). I then glue a black mat board to the back of the plywood, then glue onto the mat board any positive area ( white). My inspiration for this artwork comes from a fine scroll saw artist Gary Browning.

Sunflowers

In the spring of each year I try to grow sunflowers in my back yard. When they bloom, I try to get out there and paint them as much as possible. Last year, no sooner had they bloomed, then a hale storm came through and destroyed them. ( Real Bummer) This year we are having a drought. ( Double Bummer )
